Having achieved the legal permits from the Iranian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Artifacts, Sepanta RoJan Mamatir Company (SRM) was officially established in the Iranian northern city, Babol in 2019. This company was originally focused on training domestic and international tour guides, local guides, travel agency’s technical managers, and other learners interested in tourism activities. The company was quick to see its paramount success in educational affairs, and has attained honorable credits from local, provincial, and national officials, thus having become a reputable organization among tourism and cultural activists as well as nature preservation groups, all thanks to honest efforts of our educational manager, dear Ms. Fatemeh Bayati.

In 2023, the managing director of the company, Mr. Md. H. Haddadi, proposed to the board of managers the addition of a new field of activity, i.e. running a travel agency, which was accepted unanimously by the member. The relevant paperwork was done and the required permits were granted by the ministry, and this company is now known as Sepanta Rojan Mamatir Educational and Tourism Service Company; it is, however, still abbreviated as SRM to pay tribute to our starting point of activities.

In addition to all our educational activities, what SRM is currently engaged with includes thorough tourism services such as running domestic and nationwide tours, nature tours, foreign tours, visa paperwork, tours with specific purposes, medical tourism, aiding students to continue their studies in foreign countries, and cooperation with international travel agencies in Europe, America, and Asia.

But why Sepanta Rojan Mamatir? The purpose of choosing this name was to signal an integration of a few of the dominant Iranian cultures. Sepanta, having been taken from the ancient pre-Islamic era of Iran, means “holey”, “Sacred”, and “decent deed”. Rojan, derived from the rich Kurdish culture means “days”, “light”, and “life”. Mamatir, used to be the old name of Babol, the city where we are located, near the coast of the Great Caspian Sea. This word means “the seat of Mithra”, the holy profit of the ancient Mithraism religion.

As we believe in the unity and uniqueness of our country, the management of this company also believes in the coordination and integration of all existing cultures in our great country. Therefore, we interpret ourselves as a company who makes all the efforts to bring about “beautiful bright days” to our clients all over the world, though we are located in Babol
